things well done | nial o’connor ::
:: last night I attended a group exhibition opening called “Draw.ing n” at Art Plus Gallery in Shanghai. The exhibition featured the work of Nial O’Connor (a.k.a. Zeldz Magnoonis), a friend of 56minus1. Nial’s comic illustrations have always inspired me: so modern, so urban, so imaginative, so playful. Below are a few examples of his pieces on exhibit. Bravo, well done. // AjS

Thanks for putting this up. I love the way Nial reframes the scenes we see day in, day out, and injects them with whimsy. We’d all be better off if we could internalize his perspective.
Perchance you can dig us up some more info about his foray into comic book awesomeness?
Liao Yang’s pencil drawings were also amazing. Incredibly intricate work, with almost farcical characters, and a nice foil to Nial’s pieces…

@ Panthea, thanks for the response. There is some stuff on Nial and “Zeldz Magnoonis” findable via Google and such, but he needs a proper Web site! He told me that setting up a site was his new year’s resolution…waiting in anticipation. And also, indeed, Liao Yang’s stuff is remarkable.
