beijing’s 2nd apple store ::
:: Apple is apparently opening a second official store in Beijing, near the Qianmen area. Ben Wood, the Shanghai-based architect of Xintiandi-fame, and his Shanghai Studio design firm are behind the project. Link here for more. Uh, when can we get an official Apple store in Shanghai. Pretty please? // AjS

Apple had been planning a Qianmen store before its Sanlitun store, apparently; I remember translating a couple of articles for my day job last year which had predicted that Qianmen would be the first Apple store to open. Suppose the delay (~1 year) can probably be explained by the overall failure of Qianmen to take off as a shopping destination.

Some resourse said this design is for Shanghai Apple Store. Does it confirm that it is actually for the 2nd Beijing store?

it’s like a chinese restaurant, it doesn’t show much of apple’s image (which is known with the innovative tech).. don’t like it much..show us more of elaboration design between traditional and innovative.. however, hope the second store will open soon..
