neocha NEXT ::
:: Neocha.com has a free music player called NEXT that streams songs from its library of user-created and user-uploaded music. The NEXT player works from within a web browser, as a downloadable widget, or as embedded HTML anywhere you want to put it. All of the songs on NEXT are 100% original works from Chinese independent musicians, in genres spanning garage rock, electronica, hip-hop, shoe-gazing, indie-pop, art rock, folk, ambient, dance, metal, post-rock, etc. The widget is fully bilingual (unlike the Neocha Web site which is only Chinese), so it addresses the “where to find Chinese indie music when you don’t know where to start” question for non-Chinese readers.
Click here to download NEXT or try out the web pop-out version; or just press play and stream from the player to the right.
Below is the HMTL code for embedding, feel free to copy and paste wherever you’d like:

Thanks for this post Adam. I had just plugged the Next player in my latest blog post and had a comment asking about it. I shall direct them here.

So you can’t open a neocha page if you’re not Chinese? Or your music just won’t get added to the next player?

Hi Mike,
To answer your questions:
1) Anybody can open a Neocha page, no matter if you’re Chinese or not. It’s just easier if you can read Chinese since you can navigate the website easier. We have put English on the NEXT page to make that easier for non-Chinese readers: http://www.neocha.com/-/music_next.html
2) Anybody who uploads music to Neocha will get added to the NEXT player. We have algorithms that increase the frequency in which songs are played, but unless the music is non-original, it will be added into the NEXT play library.
Thanks,
Sean
